A newly added bank has the New status. Three buttons are shown: Initialize (INI/HIA) (green wheel), Edit and Delete. Initialization takes place in several steps, between Arkaio and the bank:
- Click Initialize (INI/HIA): Arkaio generates the EBICS keys (signature, authentication, encryption) and sends the public keys to the bank (INI and HIA orders). The bank moves to the Initialized status. For an E contract, Arkaio then redirects you to passkey registration.
- Click Generate letters: Arkaio produces the initialization letters (key fingerprints). Have them signed by the authorized persons and send them to the bank.
- Wait for the bank to activate access (usually a few days, depending on the bank).
- Click Download keys (HPB): Arkaio retrieves the bank's public keys.
- Synchronize the capabilities: Arkaio reads the authorized orders (HTD) and the signing rights (HKD). The bank moves to the Active status.
Important — As long as the bank has not received and validated the signed letters, the HPB step fails: this is not an Arkaio error. Check with the bank that the letters have arrived.
Once the bank is active, the ⋮ menu offers: Synchronize capabilities, Generate letters, Renew certificates (HCS) (new keys sent to the bank), Suspend access (SPR) and Delete.
Important — Suspension (SPR) is irreversible: to reactivate access, you must reinitialize everything (INI/HIA/HPB) and have new letters signed. Reserve it for cases of compromise.
